A POETS’ AGORA is an open bilingual conversation around the poetry of living Greek and Greek-inspired authors. The word AGORA stems from its ancient meaning as spelled out by Lolita Georgiou “From the moment people began to organise themselves into groups they had to have a place where they could meet…We know that the Greek word for such a place is agora, from the verb agorevein (speak), which shows clearly its initial function.”
The events take place as a poetry reading with a theme, MUTED in 2015, LULL in 2016, RISK in 2017…..
Three authors read an original poem created for the event and their own published poems followed by a discussion on the content of their poetry and the art of poetry in contemporary Greece.
